A Dutch alternative to Kahoot
Like other quiz tools, you host on a screen and your guests play along on their phones. But Kwishetwel is built for a real quiz night among friends: more round types, a penalty wheel and content written in Dutch.
What Kwishetwel does differently
- More than just multiple choice: seven round types, including a tile board with knock-out, speed word association, map questions, ranking questions and music rounds.
- A penalty wheel for whoever comes last, for extra tension and fun around the table.
- Not self-running: you host as the presenter, provide explanations and set the pace.
- Content written in Dutch, for Dutch nights, not blindly translated.
- No app or installation: guests play along in the browser.
Who is it for?
For a friends' night on the couch, a café quiz or a company outing, not for the classroom. Kwishetwel is all about people together in the same room who want to make a night of it.
How it works
- You start a quiz and get a join code and QR code on the screen.
- Players scan or type the code on their phones and pick a name.
- You play the rounds one by one and finish with the final standings and the penalty wheel.

Frequently asked questions
Is Kwishetwel free?
Yes, you create a host account for free and run unlimited quizzes with it, including the round library and the penalty wheel. More round types come with a subscription.
Do players need an app?
No. Just like with other quiz tools, players take part in their browser: they scan the QR code or type the join code at kwishetwel.com/join. No download, no account.
Can I create my own questions, like in Kahoot?
With the Ultimate subscription, yes: that's where you put together your own rounds and quizzes. On the other subscriptions you choose from our curated, Dutch-language round library instead of entering your own questions.
What's the biggest difference from Kahoot?
Kwishetwel is made for a real quiz night among friends, colleagues or café guests rather than for the classroom. You host as the presenter and set your own pace, there's more variety in round types and a penalty wheel, and the content is written in Dutch instead of translated.
